Connecting Communities with Faster Digital Access

This development underscores Telkomsel’s commitment to delivering enhanced digital connectivity for communities, households, and regional businesses. The deployment of these 5G stations focuses on bustling areas with significant economic activity, including shopping centers, residential zones, industrial hubs, popular tourist spots, Telkomsel GraPARI, and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport.

A Vision for Inclusive Connectivity

Indra Mardiatna, Telkomsel’s Network Director, emphasized the company’s vision: “We want everyone—every home and business—to benefit from Telkomsel’s robust 5G network. The 5G ecosystem in Makassar is evolving rapidly, and our continuous expansion of Hyper 5G coverage is crucial. Moving forward, we aim to accelerate our 5G reach to major cities in Papua, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan, focusing on industrial areas like mining to spur economic growth and drive digital transformation in East Indonesia.”

Impressive Speed and Growing Adoption

Internal testing of the Hyper 5G network has revealed astonishing download speeds reaching up to 514 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 77 Mbps—five times the performance of 4G.

Building a Digital Future

Since the launch of its 5G services in 2021, Telkomsel has established over 2,500 5G BTS across 56 cities in Indonesia, including hotspots like Denpasar, Bandung, Jabodetabek, and Surabaya. Beyond just expanding the physical network infrastructure, Telkomsel is significantly enhancing digital connectivity in Makassar and nearby areas, opening new avenues for e-commerce, online education, telemedicine, digital financial services, and entertainment.
