Apparel retailer Uniqlo India plans to launch with a store in Delhi next year.

Following the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Delhi this month, the Japanese brand will soon begin recruiting as it prepares to enter the south Asia region.

“We look forward to introducing our LifeWear apparel in India while at the same time contributing to the expansion of the Indian economy,” says chairman/president/CEO Tadashi Yanai of Fast Retailing, which runs the Uniqlo brand.

Initially the company will focus on expanding its presence in the capital region, as well as introducing its manager candidate program in India.
