Indonesia receives awards at South Africa Tourism Fair

Indonesia won two prestigious awards at the largest tourism market and exhibition, entitled “the Gateway Show”, in Johannesburg South Africa, which ran from September 23-25, 2016.

Deputy Assistant of European, Middle East, America and Africa Market Development at the Ministry of Tourism, Nia Niscaya, said, here on Friday, that the two awards included the Best International Destination, building a booth modelled after a Phinisi traditional ship.

The other award received by Indonesia was The Highest Award; the Spirit of Gateway 2016.

“This award is expected to open the eyes of the international public, especially in Africa, about Indonesias tourism potentials,” Nia said.

Also, Gateway Show organizers praised the Indonesian promotions team for its work at the exhibition, in which they presented a variety of attractions and delicious culinary treats.

At the Gateway Show, the Wonderful Indonesia booth showcased Indonesia’s unique foods and coffee, offering samples to visitors.
