At present, Southeast Asia is diligently working on large-scale underwater power grid projects in an effort to set up the ASEAN Power Grid (APG). The primary goal of the APG is to interconnect national power infrastructures.

One example of such a project is the West Coast energy highway, for which a bidding notice is expected to be released in the first half of this year.
