Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton is venturing into the cosmetic industry with the introduction of La Beaute, a premium makeup line. The initial launch is set to take place in China this month, with a worldwide expansion planned shortly after.
The creative process for developing this collection was steered by renowned British makeup artist, Dame Pat McGrath. The French luxury establishment communicated that the products come in artistically designed containers that are intended to be lifelong keepsakes.
The makeup assortment features 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and a variety of eyeshadow palettes.
All items in the collection are designed with sustainability in mind, as they are refillable. Customers can purchase replacement lipstick bullets and individual eyeshadow shades as needed.
Adding an extra touch of luxury, the lip products, a collaboration with Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, are also fragranced. The Rouge lipsticks boast a blend of mimosa, jasmine, and rose scents, while the Baumes lip balms carry hints of mint and raspberry.
“Makeup is culture; it is power; it is presence; and it’s personal,” McGrath, the creative director of cosmetics for La Beaute, said of the new line.
The lipsticks and balms from the range are priced at $160 each, while the eyeshadow palette is available for $250.
The brand is planning a digital pre-launch scheduled for August 25.
